WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM?

Did you know that… Beauty Salons and Barber Shops can have student On-the-Job Training (study/work) with his/her Apprentice License issued by The Board of Barbering and Cosmetology?

Did you know that… you can participate in this program and EARN while you LEARN the Barbering or Cosmetology profession?

An apprenticeship is a training program that allows a student, called apprentice, to earn a wage while studying to become a cosmetologist or a barber.

Under the guidance and supervision of a licensed professional in an salon approved by the Board of a Barbering and Cosmetology.

The Apprenticeship Program is a training program approved by the Los Angeles Unified School District that allows a trainee, called an apprentice, to earn a wage while studying to become a cosmetologist or a barber under the guidance and supervision of a California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology in a salon licensed by the Board. A contract, called an indenture agreement, is drawn up between an approved salon owner and trainer, the program sponsor and the apprentice.

This is a full-time, two-year, 3200-hour program. The apprentice must be employed full-time (at least 32

hours a week), earn a wage and receive at least 260 related and supplemental instruction (RSI) hours in a classroom.KC BEAUTY ACADEMY offer Milady as a curriculum of education system. This online and text book you will master the fundamental theory necessary for exam preparation.
